Just three years ago on season three of NBC’s “The Voice”, we were introduced to country singer Cassadee Pope, who was just 23 at the time. After 34 long and exciting episodes, she won under mentor Blake Shelton. Now, 26 years old she recently released her single “I Am Invincible”.

Cassadee first started singing lead vocals in the American rock band Hey Monday, which released five albums between 2008 and 2011 and then went on a hiatus in December. Cassadee later talked about the break in an interview with Alter The Press. “We’ve always been one of those bands that had stuff planned early, and we’d been on tour for nearly two years since being together. Around the middle of last year, it really started slowing down, and we didn’t have anything planned after our South America tour in August. A lot of things pointed towards us to the direction of needing to take a break and doing our own thing.”

Pope later auditioned for “The Voice” in September, 2012 where all four coaches offered to mentor her. She picked country singer Blake Shelton to be her coach who lead her to being named “The Voice” and essentially kick-started her successful musical career.

During her rise to country singer fame, Cassadee was interviewed by The Baltimore Sun where she was asked what she missed from being on “The Voice”.

“I don’t miss the stress,” she said. “I want to sell music, and I want radio to play my songs. All of that pressure is there, but it’s not so dramatic.”

She later signed with the music label Republic Nashville and released two albums Wasting All These Tears in late May of 2013 and Frame By Frame in early October 2013. Pope went on tour most of 2014 with famous country singers, Tim McGraw and Dierks Bentley.

Finally on July 25th, 2015,  she released her new single I am Invincible.

My first thoughts when hearing I Am Invincible”  were “Oh no, not a country song,” but as I kept listening I fell in love with the whole song. I’m really not a country music fan, but this song just gives off such a positive and inspirational vibe that it can put almost anyone in a good mood.
In I am Invincible, every word Pope sings is so empowering, but her chorus is what really brings it all together for me. I am invincible/ I am unbreakable/ I am a diamond cut to last/ I am unstoppable/ I am a hero/ Like a phoenix from the ash. All of that just gives off such a boost of confidence and assurance that everything will be alright no matter what happens in life, you are an invincible person.
