Ursula Sturgeon

Ursula Sturgeon

Ursula is the copy Editor and perspectives reporter for the Stampede, although previously they were known for regularly providing commentary on the site under the alias Darkstripe. Ursula enjoys opera, writing, cats, and a very strange sense of humor. They can often be seen working on their webcomic, which is a combination of the aforementioned four things. Ursula is rarely seen without their writing partner and roommate, Eve, a distinguished tortoiseshell cat.

Jack Johnson’s music, I find, is very relaxing. Maybe it is because I associate it with its appearances in a movie I watched all the time as a kid, maybe it is because it is actually relaxing, I do not...

Lemon Demon is one of those artists where I like the music itself a lot, but the fans I have seen of his are a bit much if you want my opinion. Thankfully, however, this song seems to be relatively untouched...

If you know me, you know I absolutely love the Don Juan folktale. I have written countless essays and analyses of the story as it appears throughout the past few centuries, have seen Mozart’s operatic...

Bulldog Eyes has been one of my favorite artists for a while now, mainly owing to the overall aesthetic of their songs. If you have ever seen pictures of liminal spaces, those places that feel so nostalgically...

Bruno is Orange by Hop Along

Bruno is Orange by Hop Along

This has been one of those songs that I rediscover every few months, mainly for its simple yet pleasing beat that slowly increases in volume and power just as its lyrics do, and for the lyrics themselves,...

While I do not often listen to Modest Mouse, this song makes me think I should. With its circular beat, the story gradually becomes more and more clear as the song goes on: It is about a man coming to...

“Poor George”: Half mocking, half melancholy; this is the story of pride that goes before the fall. The titular George is both his own character and a symbol for the particular carelessness of men,...
