Weekly Sports Update: 4/3 – 4/7

Baseball By Sameen Ali
Last Tuesday, the varsity and sophomore teams lost their games, and all of the freshman games were cancelled. Wednesday and Thursday’s games were cancelled for all levels as well, but were rescheduled. On Friday, the teams played against Neuqua Valley, where varsity lost 5-12, but the sophomores won their game 4-3, and the freshmen had a 13-5 win. On Saturday, varsity lost 8-11 to Naperville North, and the sophomores were once again split – they lost game one 9-11, but then won in game two, beating the opposing team 12-8. Both freshman teams won their games as well, with the A team taking a 10-4 win and the B team getting a 13-4 win.

Boys’ Water Polo By Sameen Ali
Last week, boys’ water polo had a home game against St. Charles North on Wednesday, where the team came on top with a 16-5 win. The JV team was away at the Maine West Invite over the weekend, which consisted of three games. The boys will take on Naperville North on Tuesday.

Girls’ Water Polo By Kellie Foy
This past week, the girls’ water polo team won against St. Charles North, winning 12-5. Both teams (JV and varsity) won the Fremd Tournament this past weekend with wins against Maine South, Niles West and Fremd. The teams have a game at home on Tuesday against rival Naperville North as well.

Girls’ Lacrosse By Kellie Foy
This past week, the only game the girls’ lacrosse teams were supposed to play were rained out. The teams have a game on Monday at St. Charles, and on Thursday at Waubonsie against St. Francis. They also play on Saturday away at Conat.

Rugby By Zainie Qureshi
Rugby did not have any games this past week, but held practices for their future games.

Badminton By Kellie Foy
This past week, the girls’ varsity badminton team beat Naperville Central, winning 9-6. The JV team also won to Naperville Central, winning 8-7. The varsity team won to Wheaton North, winning 13-2. The teams have a game on Tuesday at home against rival Waubonsie Valley and at home on Thursday against Lake Park. The varsity team has its Mustang Varsity Invite on Saturday at home.
