Jessica is a senior and this is her second year on staff. She is the news editor this year. When she is not in the newsroom, she is either hanging out with her friends or in lacrosse practice. Her favorite season is fall because of all the festivities that come with it and the leaves changing color. Even in the colder weather, you will still find her with an iced coffee in her hand.

Breaking: 204 delays hybrid plan until after Thanksgiving break due to rise in COVID-19 cases

District 204 is continuing with a full remote learning plan until Nov. 27. Superintendent Dr. Adrian Talley updated the 204 community on Tuesday with regards to the hybrid learning plan that was going to begin next Monday. As COVID-19 cases have been ascending these past two weeks, the DuPage County Health Department continues to remain under Substantial Community Transmission.
Dr.Karen Sullivan decided that all schools in IPSD 204 would move to online learning.

Superintendent Karen Sullivan announced that District 204 is closing all schools and implementing online learning starting March 18.  While there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the district, Sullivan said she was acting “out of an abundance of caution.”

The performer gave Metea students a lesson about a drum but not just any drum. The Drembre drum is a drum originating in west Africa. The name of the drum means everyone gather together in peace and it comes in multiple different sizes. The man described it as a family. The largest one is the father, the middle-sized one is the mother and the smallest one is the child. These drums have three types of sounds which are bass, tone, and slap.
